This Blog picks picks up the progress of the building of my Experimental Class homebuilt plane project from Dec. 2011. The Zenith CH750 is designed for short take offs and landings. It will be powered by a Continental C-90 engine that I had completely rebuilt by Dan Martinez, a mechanic in San Antonio with a good reputation for quality work. Fuel capacity will be 30 gallons, which should provide a conservative 4.5 hrs of flight time with 30 minutes to spare.

Saturday, 12/31/11 and Monday, 1/2/12: Began installation of the flaperons. Cleco'd in place to establish the required 19 mm clearance seperation from wing. Drilled out for flaperon attachment splice plate. Mounted flaperons to wings, drilled out, flaperons are now in place. Began attaching flaperons to controls. Found the fuselage slot for the control rods must be widened & enlarged to accomodate full travel of the control rods. Had to adjust the control rod linkage to set the attachment eyebolts level with each other. 20 hrs.
